Due to repatriation, they are looking for a creative and dynamic leader in language education to be the Academic Content Manager to join their research and development team in Shanghai.
As the Academic Content Manager, you will lead a team of experienced language learning content developers to create the next generation of online and blended language learning solutions. You will develop a coherent strategy for language education in multiple technology channels; ensure linguistic and pedagogical quality of educational materials by working with cross-functional project teams to design educational tools and applications and assigning academic resources to projects. You will hire, train, develop and manage academics, writers and editors, both in-house and freelance and oversee development and implementation of academic and editorial guidelines. You will have a passion for cutting-edge learning technologies and their potential in education, as well as a talent for communicating your enthusiasm internally and externally in meetings and public events.
To be a successful Academic Content Manager you should have an EdD, Master’s etc in TESOL, Applied Linguistics, or Linguistics with 5 – 7 years’ English language teaching experience in both academic and commercial contexts, of which 3 – 5 in EFL / ELT material development, preferably for online learners and at least 3 years’ editorial project and people management. You will have commercial experience that informs your decision making in creating innovative and effective learning products. You will have led teams, juggled priorities, and met challenging deadlines. You will have demonstrated familiarity with language standards and frameworks (e.g. CEFR) and have digital media skills and ability to work in a technology setting. All of this as well as strong evidence of leadership, innovative curriculum design, and materials development with a desire to innovate education.
