IGCSE / A-Level Physics Teacher
Our client is a world class British boarding and day school in China with a clear aim to educate and equip children to achieve the best possible academic results to enter the world’s leading universities and become leaders in whatever career they pursue and to become recognized as the best school in China. They believe that a pupil who fears failure will never try something new, being willing to fail is seen as a positive, a strength, so offer an environment where pupils never fear failure but instead are excited by a challenge.
The School offers a wonderful learning environment, with excellent classrooms, laboratories and libraries. On the extensive campus with its lawns and trees there are three magnificent specialist buildings; one is home to a dedicated water sports facility offering canoeing, swimming and rowing with direct lake access, the other is a fully equipped theatre, together with specialist Music and Art facilities and the third is a Kindergarten with every room specially designed to provide the best teaching and learning experience for the youngest children.
Like the leading UK schools, the timetable is designed to give the pupils a varied and challenging experience. Numerous sports are on offer, including rowing, rugby, fencing and hockey, and the campus has a 400m outdoor running track, many floodlit tennis courts, indoor sports halls, water sports centre and swimming pool.
With so many sporting, music and drama opportunities many of the Primary pupils and almost all Secondary pupils choose to board. Boarding is in spacious, comfortable rooms with common rooms for relaxation.
As a result of their growth they are seeking three IGCSE & A-Level Physics teachers for an August 2018 start.
As an IGCSE / A-Level Physics Teacher, you will teach small groups of high achieving pupils, playing a key role in developing their potential. You should believe that learning does not take place in the classroom, it takes place everywhere, and as a boarding teacher, you must help your pupils grow intellectually and socially, developing both their teamwork and leadership skills, encouraging and motivating them to be ambitious.
To be successful in this role you need to be an IGCSE / A-Level Physics teacher who pursues excellence, be Russel Group educated, preferably still UK based or if not, no more than two years outside. You must have an absolute commitment to boarding school as work expectations extend beyond subject teaching, and ideally have experience in the independent school sector in the UK (either as a pupil or as a teacher). You will be an expert in the classroom, with pastoral understanding. Ideally you should also be able to offer a sport as sports are integral to the learning process with all pupils taking part in sport two hours every day.
You should provide an environment where pupils learn to challenge ideas and develop their own. Help them understand that learning is through research and understanding rather than memory which is crucial for studying at University. A pupil who asks for help will succeed and a good teacher will offer that help.
If you are looking for a dynamic and forward-looking school; small classes with motivated and happy pupils; a challenging and enjoyable environment in which to work, characterized by positive interpersonal relationships; a vibrant, rapidly-developing city in which to work, and a good standard of living; an excellent induction package and CPD together with opportunities for further career enhancement, then please click on "Apply Now" and register on our website.
