Our client, a prestigious school in Hangzhou, is seeking an experienced and passionate Deputy Head of Primary to provide guidance and support to their Hangzhou school's primary school staff.

As the Deputy Head, you will play a key role in the leadership team, ensuring the highest standards of pastoral care and promoting a culture of excellence in teaching and learning.

You will be working together with administrative departments for efficient school operations, acting as a role model, promoting the school's values within the community. Reporting directly to the Head of Primary, managing the organization and management of the Primary School, including recruiting and employing English academic and administrative support staff.

You will develop and implement strategic plans for successful primary school operations.  Establishing the educational vision and fostering a positive learning environment.  Analysing and planning for future needs and growth within local, national, and international contexts.  Creating a strategic plan for student achievement, teacher effectiveness, and school improvement.

You will ensure high-quality teaching based on evidence and subject expertise, using self-evaluation to improve teaching practices.  Implement a structured curriculum and reliable assessment of student understanding, whilst leading and managing staff. You will be establishing and sustaining the school's ethos and strategic direction, optimising school operations through systems, processes, and policies, and ensuring staff and student safety and welfare.

To be successful as the Deputy Head of Primary, you must have a bachelor’s degree and teaching certification. Be fluent in English, with a minimum 10 years working experience in education, ideally with at least 3 years in an international school setting, with a minimum 2 years management experience.  You should have strong pedagogical knowledge, excellent communication skills, financial astuteness and commercial acumen with attention to detail and time management, with the ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders.
