Being a game changer in the field of Higher Education in China, and with their vision to become a research-led international university in China and a Chinese university recognised internationally for its unique features in learning and teaching, research, social service, and education management; they are seeking a Lecturer/Associate Professor in Planning Law and Governance for the Department of Urban Planning and Design for a September 2018 start.
The Department of Urban Planning and Design sets out to offer a globally competitive, professional planning and urban design programme unique in its focus on both local Chinese and international planning and urban design policy and practice. Research areas include urbanisation and urban regeneration in China, heritage and landscape conservation, local identity, migration and regional restructuring, smart cities, and participatory systems of planning.
As the Lecturer/Associate Professor in Planning Law and Governance, you will teach a 4th Level (Year 3 of a UK University degree) module on Planning Law and Governance and a 4th Level (Year 3 of a UK University degree) module that coordinates students Final Year Projects and Dissertation.
To be successful in your role, you should have a PhD and/or be able to demonstrate appropriate professional experience. Have good teaching experience and evidence of the ability to produce high quality research publications. Good language skills in English, and be able to teach in English, the language of instruction at the university. You will be expected to teach; to undertake research in your area of specialisation on both individual and group projects, and to be actively engaged in the publication of the results; and to participate in the administration and development of the department of Urban Planning and Design.

The salary range for the Lecturer positions (equivalent to Assistant Professor in the US system) is 26,454 – 32,412 RMB/month, and for Associate Professor is 32,904 – 38,894 RMB/month. In addition, members of academic staff are entitled to accommodation and travel allowances, medical insurance, and relocation expenses.
