Senior HR Business Partner, Shanghai, China


Our client represents the marriage of traditional values and progressive education.  With various locations across mainland China and Hong Kong, they serve approximately 4000 pupils.  They are committed to making professional learning and personal development central to their ethos and approach.

As a result of their continued growth, they are seeking a Senior Human Resources Business Partner to be responsible for the overall Human Resource function in their Central Office, as well as providing professional and timely support to the CO on all areas of HR, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures, whilst providing effective and efficient service levels to all stakeholders. 

Shanghai Pudong

As the Senior HR Business Partner, you will oversee developing and delivering strategies around Employee Relations, Performance Management and Appraisal, Engagement, Development and Wellness.  You must be able to communicate effectively with the Central Office Senior Director and Director of HR, COD’s team members and external agents involved in the functions of the CO whilst effectively managing the HR team at central office level.  Key responsibilities will include employee relations, recruitment, professional development, compensation and benefits, retention and operational excellence.

To be successful as the HR Business Partner you need at minimum a Bachelor’s degree in relevant subject area, be proficient in oral and written English with spoken / written Chinese helpful but not essential.  You should have 4 – 5 years in Generalist HR role, with experience of a broad range of HR areas and specialised in employee relations. Experience of reporting in to and supporting C-Suite Line Managers both local and expat.  Experience in international or multi-national companies and exposure to international HR best practices is essential, with experience of working outside of China preferred.
